At New Jersey Mobile Veterinary Services, we are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care in the comfort of your home. However, it is important to understand that a mobile veterinary practice has certain limitations, particularly when it comes to emergency or critical care situations. If your pet requires an urgent x-ray, ultrasound, hospitalization, or other advanced diagnostics, we will refer you to the nearest local veterinary hospital or 24-hour specialty hospital. If your pet is experiencing any of the following, please proceed directly to a 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital:
-
Difficulty breathing or open-mouth breathing
-
Severe trauma (hit by car, major fall, bite wounds with heavy bleeding)
-
Collapse, unconsciousness, or inability to stand
-
Active seizures or repeated seizure episodes
-
Ingestion of known toxins (chocolate, certain plants, human medications, etc.)
-
Bloating of the abdomen with signs of distress (a true emergency, especially in large breed dogs)
-
Uncontrolled bleeding
-
Difficulty urinating or complete inability to urinate
-
Sudden onset of paralysis or severe neurological signs
-
High fever with lethargy
